1001 Things I Learned

I, too, was a CFF coach during the past year. WOW! All of the Web 2.0 tools that are out there! In some ways, I wanted to be in a regular classroom again. It would be great to use some of the tools I learned about with students. In other ways, I want to impart some of my knowledge to the other teachers in my district. I feel this excitement could be contagious!  These Google applications are awesome. So many things to use!

I am new to blogging too. My district has a "no blogging" rule, but I would think that it would be OK as long as it is limited to class members. Can a blog be previewed by me before a post is published?

Blogging in English

Our 10th grade English teacher has used Blogger with her students and has been very pleased. They respond to questions related to their reading, or sometimes post their own questions. Their answers are much more thoughtful than when they answer orally, and everyone participates. A few students no longer dominate the discussions. And since their classmates (and the rest of the world) can see their responses, they are more conscientious about doing a good job.
What a great idea for students!

Blogging

I love the idea of blogging. I have played around with it somewhat with my students. We are blocked through most blogs, except for the Blended School's website blogging tool. I use it for creative writing with my students. My students do not really complain as much about having to write when it is in this format. It is wonderful how much technology is helping students and teachers get excited about learning in a new way.

Just Had a Brainstorm and Thought I'd Share

I'm going to create a Google Form with a quick survey to my CFF teachers asking them what cool technology tool and/or 21st Century lesson they plan to incorporate first in the new school year. Then I'll make the results viewable so that everyone can benefit from each other's ideas.

As we are heading into Year 2 with CFF equipment, I'm hopeful that the teachers' "creative juices" are stirring. :-)

Blogging

Blogging is so new to me that I really have to get the feel of it.
